Securing a Flood-Damaged Construction Site After Snowmelt
After the heavy snowmelt in spring 2005, the Mahoning River overflowed and caused major erosion near a new residential development in Mahoning Commons. Muddy water pooled around the foundation, and loose soil threatened to swallow the site. The soggy ground and uncertain footing meant unsecured equipment and materials were at risk of theft and damage, putting the entire project timeline in jeopardy.
Our crew moved quickly to install sturdy, galvanized steel temporary fencing with secure footing, even on soft, eroded soil. We reinforced panels with weighted baseplates and locked gates with tamper-resistant hardware. This kept the site safe and dry enough for workers to return without delays. The developer avoided costly setbacks and kept their insurance happy with our solid, weather-resistant barrier.
Steel Valley’s fence kept our site secure when the river spilled over—no delays, no losses.
